Annan is the third largest settlement in the Dumfries Galloway Council area, with a resident population of approximately 9,000. The town is located approximately 15 miles east of the regional capital of Dumfries, 8 miles west of Gretna and 21 miles north west of Carlisle. The town is bypassed by the A75 trunk road which provides a connection to the M74. Located within walking distance of all local amenities such as schools, banks, shops, post office, pubs and bus stop. An excellent location for exploring the Solway estuary, Border hills or the Lake District National Park. A wider choice of facilities may be obtained at either Dumfries or Carlisle which lie approximately 15 and 19 miles distant respectively via the A75 Euro route and A74(M) /M6 motorway.
