As reported nationally, the Boddam Power Station is one of two huge projects (the other being St Fergus gas station 20 minutes from Boddam) that are in line to be transformed into carbon capture hubs with the employment of thousands of personnel in the North East of Scotland. Major funding for the project has already been invested by the private sector and now the last piece of the jigsaw is to be funded by the UK Government, which appears to be imminent as the 2 sites are the only ones being purposed for Scotland due to the present pipelines of Boddam and St Fergus connecting the disused oil wells in the North Sea they are going to be pumped to.
