Rothesay is one of Scotland's premier seaside resorts, developed primarily during the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries, and incorporates an earlier medieval settlement. The town retains a wide range of buildings characteristic of its development as a high status 19th century holiday resort, including a range of fine villas, a Victorian pier and promenade. Popular spot within the town centre close to Historic Castle and local amenities including CLYDESDALE BANK, BUTE MUSEUM, Co-op supermarket, Rothesay Golf Course and Royal Mail Post Office. The Isle of Bute lies on the West side of the Firth of Clyde. It’s capital, Rothesay, is served by a regular ferry service from Wemyss Bay from where there are train services to Greenock and Glasgow Central station.
